  3. Morning Joan! In class we read a book called Wonder by R.J Palacio and we highly recommend it to you. It is about a boy who has severe facial disfigurement. He has always been home schooled and now he is finally getting to go to school. At first he makes a few friends but he does get made fun of in a horrible way. Thankfully by the end everyone has got used to him and realised how strong he is and how he is no different from anyone else. If you have the time to read it we hope you enjoy. From Erin and Olivia.

  8. Hi Joan, I recommend the book Mr Stink because it is very funny especially when Mr Stink asks for nine sausages for breakfast! , it is a very touching book for me and I ‘m sure you would too. It’s about this girl who wonders about this wanderer and one day she asks him it turned out that he was Lord ( Lord Darlington) and that he lived in a palace with his wife and one night when his wife was pregnant he went to a pub with his friends but meanwhile back at the palace the fire in their bedroom was burning ad his wife was in that room but surprisingly the fire spread onto the carpet and the palace burnt down with his wife and the baby in it so when he got home he felt guilty to leave his wife on her own especially when she was pregnant he tried to sleep in the palace because he built it back up again but he was just too sad so he decided to be a wanderer. Sorry if I have spoilt it for you I just got a bit too carried away. By Erin M

  10. Hi Joan the book that we recommend is the Hunger Games. We really like this book and we give it a 10/10. It is about a strong girl who volunteers for her sister when she gets picked to go in the Arena. They are a poor family so the rich like to see the poor get hurt in the Arena for their enjoyment. We really enjoyed this book and we think you will enjoy it so go read it. From Erin and Ellie

  12. Hello Joan its Collette and I would like to recommend a book called The Duff-The Designated Ugly Fat Friend, I’m on the 4th chapter and I really want to find out what is next. I will tell you some of the blurb. Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper may not be the prettiest girl in school, but she has a loyal group of friends, biting wit, and a spot-on Bs detector. She’s too smart to fall for the charms for Wesley. But when he casually refers to Bianca as the Duff of her crew- The Designated Ugly Fat Friend – THE GLOVES ARE OFF!
But things aren’t so great at home and Bianca who is desperate for a distraction, ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it, and before she knows it she’s in a secret enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly wrong. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up too!

    1. Thanks, Collette! Sounds like a really mean title, but if it's making you want to find out what happens next, that's a book doing its job!

  15. Hi Joan!!!!!!!!!!!! It is Jude and Fergus from p6C. Fergus and I are writing to put forward a book extract one from me and one from Jude. First we will do Jude’s extract. I was falling from the top of my house. There was water all around my house. Now Fergus, I knew the witch was near when my phone started to melt. Quickly I ran out the house and there she was double barrel shotgun in one hand broomstick in the other…
